Hari Raya Celebration with CCCT

It is that time of the year again when regular lectures will take a backseat and business and culture will take over college campuses. Such bash was organized by Cosmopolitan college of Commerce and Technology , which turned out to be a get-together for students, alumnus and faculty members, complete with live performances by Borneo Bboy Foundation and business booths initiated by the students.

To enliven the month of Syawal, Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT) held a festive cheer, Hari Raya Event, for its esteemed staff and students on 31st August 2013.The event took place at the Mahligai Hall located on the 3rd floor of the Airport Mall. The event was organized by one of the student businesses, namely the Eventures Event Management Company.

The celebration was honored by the college principal, Cikgu Hajah Ismah, Deputy Principal, Cikgu Haji Ali Akbar, lecturers and students. The invitation was also extended to the public. Greeting them upon arrival was the lecturer and business facilitator for the event management team of the college, Ms. Siti Rafeah Serbini, as well as the General Manager of Eventures Event Management Company, Nur Qamarina Haji Ahmad. The event was opened with a welcoming speech from Ms. Rafeah.

Kicking up the excitement were several booths, was an opening of their own booth, which was being relished on by the students. A total of 9 groups of students showed their business skills by selling their own products and allowing the lecturers to oversee how the students implemented their skills from what they have learned in class into their practical life. This is a practice that is much emphasized by the College to ensure students are able to experience practical application of concepts learned in class.

Also present here, was Melina Shortbread, managing director of Borneo Bboy and Member of the fresh focus project, a team comprising of young talented people in the arts who are also active in charitable events. When asked about the annual celebration, Melina said, “This event is a great opportunity for the youth to start up their businesses. Not only that, it can also give a platform for youngsters to showcase their talents. She added “This event has a good objective as it was held in a way for the students to do what they love to do and also to be able to pursue as a successful young entrepreneurs in the near future”.

CCCT is one of the private colleges in Brunei Darussalam who plays a fundamental role in providing students the opportunity to pursue their studies in Business and Technology, not only theoretically but also practically. With this, the college would like to see their students practice what they have attained in class as well as to put all their learning to test.
