NATURE ESCAPADE IN MIRI

Miri Escapade

Thirty-two students and two lecturers of Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology went to Miri, Malaysia for a two-day endeavour with nature at the Borneo Tropical Rainforest Resort, according to a press release.

After a quick lunch, the students headed out for the flying fox challenge. Screams of nervousness and victory were heard all over the forest.

At the Abseil Tower, one held a rope and abseiled 20 feet down. tower. This was a test on facing the fear of heights and learning how to trust.

At the Wet Postman Walk, students cheered as each went up and individually walked on a rope while hanging on to a cord., and maintain his or her balance. A 20-ft river awaits below!

At the Night Safari, participants brought their torchlights for a night's walk in the forest. Spiders and insects made them squeal with dread.

This two-day excursion was a teambuilding activity that taught the values of courage, patience, and sportsmanship.

"Doing the activities scared most of us, but the encouraging words of friends and caring hands of lecturers made it successful for us to face the challenges.", said Mohammad Malik Azizul Lizan bin Haji Mohd Nassir, a student taking up PND in Computing.
