Dato Ali’s Visit to CCCT

Cosmopolitan College conducted a presentation on “Furthering your employability potential program”, on the 14th of September, 2014, at 10.30 a.m. in Dewan Mahligai Hall. The event was held to inform about the practical knowledge, extended to the students, by the college. The college is preparing their learners to face challenges ahead of them by setting up their own business, so that they continue to be employed in the future. The main purpose of the visit is also to present CCCT’s academic and non-academic activities.

Arrived at the ceremony, was the guest of honour,Yang Mulia Dato Seti Setia Awang Haji Yusoff bin Awang Haji Yusoff bin Awang Haji Ismail, the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education. Also present, was the executive chairman of CCCT, Yang Mulia,Dr Hj Abd Aziz Bin Hj Latif, Yang Mulia Awang Yusuf Bin Hj Abd Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s office, Director General, Dr Hjh May Faezah Binti Hj Ahmad Ariffin, Deputy Director General, Awg Haji Abdul Amin Bin Haji Hashim as well as senior officers and officers from JPKE.

The event started with the recitation of Al-Fatihah by the school’s Deputy Principal, Yang Mulia Cikgu Haji Ali Akbar, followed by the welcome speech by Yang Mulia Dr Haji Abd Aziz.

The ceremony was lightened up by presentations delivered by two Cosmopolitan College lecturers, Miss Rafeah Serbini and Miss Diana Emran.

They added that the college started in 2004 with only 25 students. Now, they have a total of 800 students studying in the college with BPTV scholarships that was granted in September 2011. Cosmopolitan College is offering 8 courses ranging from LCCI to HND. They are in the process of starting informatics courses such as Diploma and Advance Diploma in gaming and animation as well as degree courses for which the MOE’S approval is still awaited. To this day, 21 locals and 20 expatriates work as lecturers in the college.

The presentations also focused on the challenges they had throughout the years such as difficulty in recruiting lecturers and competition from other private institutions that affect the attachment placement for students.
